Our presses are pretty amazing but they can’t do it all, so we often combine letterpress printing with in-house offset or digital printing to make the most of printing technology
From Gutenberg to Modern Letterpress Printing
Johannes Gutenberg’s innovations around 1450 in casting lead type (aka movable type) and a mechanical printing press became the standard in printing for centuries. Eventually the growth of offset litho in the 1950s caused the decline in letterpress printing followed in the 1980s by “desktop publishing” and subsequently digital printing.
So why the resurgence? Some sought to salvage and preserve the antique machinery, wood and metal type before they completely disappeared. Others appreciated the craft involved with hand-setting metal or wood type and the skill in operating the printing presses. Many grew weary of all things digital, while others embraced the use of polymer printing plates from digital files.
We’d have to say those are all excellent reasons and are what led us to acquire several tons of antique presses ourselves. The biggest reason for many, however, is the final product: the unmistakable and unique beauty, quality and feel of letterpress, which in all likelihood is the reason you’re here…
We look forward to working with you.

Our Clients Us
Our wedding was amazing and some of this can be attributed to the aesthetic upon which it was built — i.e. our invites! Everyone loved the letterpress invites you helped us craft and we cannot thank you enough — honestly, they helped us form what ended up being a truly beautiful event that we won’t soon forget.Sincerely, Tony & Kim
